Update on Constitutional Amendments
One of our neighbors has written an e-mail to me regarding the constitutional amendments. She is a real estate broker. She supports Props 2, 3, 5 and 11. She said this:

Propositions 2, 3 & 5 are good changes for homeowners of the state of Texas, which contain some very needed appraisal reform of central appraisal districts. There has been some negative campaigning against appraisal reform stating that this wlll create additional taxes for homeowners, but this is not true.

Texas Constitutional Amendments Election, 2009
Here are two analyses of the proposed amendments for your consideration. Although I am a staunch defender of property rights, and oppose Kelo, Prop 11 leaves much to be desired. I am told that its shortcomings can be rectified by legislation and that it is the best shot we have to prevent Kelo situations.
